East Majorca
Cala Millor · Porto Cristo · Cala d'Or · Cala Ratjada · Cala Agulla
In a nutshell: The east is Majorca's most naturally beautiful coast — pine-fringed coves, crystal-clear water and a gentler pace than the west. Less developed, more authentic, and home to some of the island's finest hidden beaches. Ideal for couples, nature lovers and anyone who wants to slow down.
Areas of East Majorca
🌊 Cala Millor
The east coast's main resort — a long, wide sandy beach with calm, shallow water that makes it ideal for families with young children. More low-key than the west coast resorts, with a pleasant promenade and plenty of restaurants. Good base for day trips to Coves del Drac and the east's hidden coves.
🦇 Porto Cristo & Coves del Drac
Porto Cristo is a charming fishing port — one of the most picturesque on the island. The main attraction is the Coves del Drac, an extraordinary underground lake system with a classical music concert inside a lit cave. One of the must-see experiences in Majorca. Book tickets in advance.
⛵ Cala d'Or
A cluster of small, beautiful coves at the southeastern corner of the east coast. Sophisticated and upmarket compared to most east coast resorts. Several small beaches (Cala Gran, Cala Ferrera), a pretty marina, good restaurants and a calm, refined atmosphere.
🌿 Cala Ratjada & Cala Agulla
At the northeastern tip of the east coast, Cala Ratjada is an active fishing port with great restaurants. Just minutes away, Cala Agulla is one of the most beautiful sandy coves in Majorca — 600m of golden sand surrounded by pine trees. Often named among the top 5 beaches on the island.
🊠Hidden Coves (by boat or on foot)
The east coast's greatest secret — dozens of tiny coves accessible only by boat or a short hike. Cala Varques, Cala Magraner, Cala Anguila and Caló des Macs are among the finest. Water visibility is extraordinary — 10+ metres in some spots. Boat trips depart from Porto Cristo and Cala Millor daily in season.
